Send me what you have
Photos of the papers, a note about your court date, a few sentences about what's going on. That's enough to start.
A non-attorney service for people facing the court system without a lawyer they can afford. I read every page, translate the legal jargon into plain English, put your dates in one place, and walk you up to your court date prepared.
I was 18 the first time I sat in front of a stack of court papers I didn't understand. I had no money, no lawyer I could afford, and a clock that wouldn't stop. I learned how this system actually works the hard way — by being on the receiving end of it.
What I needed back then was somebody who'd just read the papers with me — slowly, in plain words, and tell me what each one meant. Nobody could afford to do that for $0, and the lawyers I could afford were too overloaded to. So I built that thing. I'm not an attorney; I won't be the one arguing your case. I'm the part that comes before that — clarity, organization, and a packet you can walk into court with.
Three steps. Confidential. No documents needed up front — you can just tell me what's going on and I'll route you from there.
Photos of the papers, a note about your court date, a few sentences about what's going on. That's enough to start.
Every page, in plain English. Every date on one timeline. Every deadline in a checklist. Every document filed and named so you can find it.
Into your court date, your public defender's office, your family's living room — knowing exactly what's in front of you and what to ask.
Pay once, no subscription, no surprises. If you're not sure which fits, call first — there's no pressure.
Secure payment by Stripe. Full refund anytime within 7 days, no questions. Or just call.
Honesty isn't a footnote on this site. It's the product. Here's the line, and exactly where to go if what you need is on the other side of it.
I'm not an attorney. This service is non-attorney document preparation and organization. For anything on this list, talk to a lawyer — and use the free help on the right if you can't afford one.
Most courthouses also have a free self-help center. If you're in another state, call or text me and I'll point you to the right one.
Yes. Non-attorney document preparation and organization is legal in every U.S. state, as long as the service doesn't give legal advice, choose forms for you, or predict outcomes. I do none of those things. I describe what your documents say, in plain English, and organize them. The honesty line on this page is the product — not a workaround.
A lawyer represents you, argues your case, and gives you legal advice. A paralegal works under an attorney's license. I'm neither — I'm a document specialist. What I do happens before what your lawyer does: I make sure you and your lawyer both walk into your case understanding every paper in front of you.
Documents are documents — your state doesn't change what I do. The service works the same way whether your case is in Iowa or Idaho. The free-legal-help resources on this page are for MO and KS because those are my home markets; for other states, call or text me and I'll point you to the right legal aid + public defender in your county.
Yes — this is one of the most common requests. Family members and loved ones hire me regularly for someone who can't manage paperwork from the inside. With your permission and theirs, I can help you both stay on top of every date, every motion, every deadline.
Yes. Your situation and your documents are treated as confidential. I don't share them with anyone without your permission. (Note that confidentiality is not the same as attorney-client privilege — that only exists between you and a licensed lawyer — but I treat your information privately, period.)
Start anyway. Send what you have. A lot of people come to me because they don't even know what they're supposed to have. Part of what I'll do is tell you what's missing and where to go get it — which is usually a free request to the court clerk.
Pay one of the three tiers above through Stripe (the same checkout you'd use on a regular store). If you change your mind for any reason within 7 days of payment — before, during, or after I've started — I refund in full, no questions, no friction. The mission isn't to lock people into something they're not sure about.
If you're holding a stack of papers and a court date, the next step doesn't have to be huge. Pick a package above, or just send a text. Either way, you'll hear back from me — same day if it's before 8 p.m. CT.
Prefer email? shaddboese@gmail.com — say a few words about what you're facing and I'll tell you which package fits.
